(Essex, CT) Kleinschmidt is pleased to announce the addition of Ian T. Cole, to our Essex, Connecticut office. Mr. Cole is a terrestrial ecologist on Kleinschmidt’s Fish Passage and Protection Team. He received a B.S. degree in Environmental Management and Science from the University of Rhode Island, in 2000, and is Registered Soil Scientist with the Society of Soil Scientist of Southern New England.
Ian’s previous consulting experience comes from his background in land development projects, where he carried out core environmental services including; wetland delineation and functional evaluations, environmental impact studies, vernal pool ecology studies, and rare and endangered species reviews. Through his consulting history and service as a Commissioner on the Town of Ledyard IWWC, Ian has gained a strong knowledge of the development permitting and review process.
At Kleinschmidt Ian will use his diverse experience to focus on ecological studies and permitting for Kleinschmidt’s energy, water resource, and land development projects.
(Grass Valley, CA) Kleinschmidt is pleased to announce the addition of Sam Diaz, P.E. to our Grass Valley, California office. Mr. Diaz is a senior engineer on Kleinschmidt’s Water Resources Team. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1998 and his Professional Engineer’s License in June 2005.
Much of Sam’s 10 years of experience comes from his background in land development engineering, where he designed sites for private commercial and residential developments. His experience includes knowledge of the project permitting and review process; surveying, including site topographical information gathering as well as construction staking; utility design of water, sewer and storm drain facilities, including low impact design concepts; construction overview and inspection; roadway design and site grading practices; hydraulic modeling in the design and assessment of gravity systems. More recently, Sam has redirected his career to focus on projects related to the water environment. For the past two plus years, he has worked on water and wastewater projects, from treatment plant designs for new installations and plant expansions, to developing prioritized capital improvement plans for existing infrastructure. Sam is also experienced in regional water planning concepts through his involvement with water supply assessments.
