Paul J. Williams joined Kleinschmidt as an engineer in 1980. He graduated cum laude from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Business Administration. He is a registered professional engineer in Maine and Vermont, and Past President of the Maine Association of Engineers.
At Kleinschmidt, Mr. Williams is a Principal and Senior Project Manager for a variety of hydroelectric related projects and valuation studies. Mr. Williams specializes in valuation analyses, due diligence reviews, project assessments, and expert consultation. He is experienced in the planning, design and operation of hydroelectric power plants and various hydraulic and mechanical component systems. He has attended numerous technical seminars and specialty conferences related to ice engineering, hydropower engineering, hydro-turbine testing, and valuation studies. Mr. Williams has served as an independent reviewer of numerous hydropower projects for lending institutions, private developers, utilities and law firms. He has performed or witnessed the testing of more than 75 hydroelectric turbines. He has also provided independent expert consultation for litigation involving design and operation of hydroelectric projects as well as providing consultation for on-going operation and maintenance of hydro plants.Mr. Williams has performed numerous valuation studies and testified in multiple court proceedings related to property taxes.
Mr. Williams is a member of the National Hydropower Association, the Independent Waterpower Association, Maine Association of Engineers, and the Granite State Hydroelectric Association.
